At ADSCP
Our goal is to empower all people with the tools available to them to pursue their Career Pathway.
Fundamental to Avenue D Services/Career Pathways’ beliefs is the importance of providing all people with barriers to employment-but especially developmentally challenged, disadvantaged and/or differently-abled people –with equal access to the same opportunities that all of us enjoy.
Employment is a key feature of human social interaction; it provides not only financial reward but satisfaction, stability, self-esteem and life structure.
ADS/CP determines – in cooperation with the client and all teachers, counselors, and family -- a series of appropriate Career Pathways for each client in accordance with their goals, dreams, skills, barriers, and potential.
At ADSCP we specialize in Person-Centered Service, with a focus on positive reinforcement, self-advocacy, empowerment, informed choice, skills development, and teamwork.
ADS/CP has an extensive Evaluation/Vocational Assessment System (pdf) , honed from years of experience in the field--which, when combined with data from family, counselors, references, and co-workers, gives all concerned parties a tool for more effective career work.
ADSCP provides a detailed Vocational Evaluation, and Individual Plan of Service (pdf) , for each client. This profile serves as a template from which our staff works – in conjunction with all parties - to enrich the lives of our clients.
